Post MS Challenge Walk & HD Bike Raffle

From a friend of mine, (AND Soon To Be Part Of A Contest for XLForum Team Members!)

Subject: MS Challenge Walk 10th Anniversary

It's now year three for me, so I'm still a newbie compared to some of these people who have been walking since the inception of this great event.
I'm getting a fairly early start this year and I'm hoping that will give us all a better chance to prepare for and to contribute to this worthy cause.
This year the walk will be back to it's normal three day 50 mile format and so the "Challenge" is really back. I've learned a couple of things in the last two years about how to preserve the health of my feet over the length of the walk but the most important is training.
And so it begins...

I've also learned that the same few people I know and who I can ask to support me are great people who find a way to contribute and to support this cause, but I also had some new ideas about how to fundraise and get some others involved.
So as in previous years you can click on the link at the bottom of this message to visit my page. If you prefer, you can send your contribution to:
MS Challenge Walk
National MS Society - Central New England Chapter
PO Box 845945
Boston, MA 02284-5945

In addition I will be sending you all an email soon to announce a new opportunity for you to donate to the Challenge Walk and to hopefully involve others that you know.
I have this year been lucky enough to work with some great people at Seacoast Harley Davidson and the MS Society to run a Raffle for a
New 2011 Harley Davidson Fatboy. I will be selling 2000 tickets at $20 apiece. So if you have friends or family that are motorcycle enthusiasts this would be a great way to sponsor this cause and to give someone a chance to win a beautiful new Harley.
Stay tuned for more information on this.

Please remember any amount, great or small, helps to make a difference in the lives of people living with MS. I appreciate your support and look forward to letting you know how I do.

Talk to you soon

(Follow-up about Bike Raffle)
Dear Friend,

So we are finally here!!

The First Annual Joyce Cromer Memorial Motorcycle raffle is underway.
Thanks to the help of the folks at the New England chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the kind support from the people at Seacoast Harley Davidson, I can bring you this great opportunity.
It's a chance to win a New 2011 Harley Davidson Fatboy and a chance through this event to provide help for today and hope for tomorrow to 19,000 individuals and families in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont affected by MS, through education, support, advocacy, and research.
Last year when I was finishing the MS Challenge walk, it occurred to me that this raffle might be a great way to be able to raise additional funds for this event and to give those who donated an opportunity for a great personal return for having made an investment in someone else.

I am today beginning to sell these 2,000 tickets for $20 each.
The cost is not that large but the odds of winning are really pretty good when you consider that only 2,000 chances will be offered.

If you click the link provided below you will be taken to a website where you will be able to donate to this cause and will receive a receipt for your ticket(s). When you do this I will automatically be emailed a notification of your donation and will put your tickets in the raffle and email you the ticket number(s) that you are assigned.

The raffle will be held on Saturday September 3rd at 1:00PM at Seacoast Harley Davidson. Although it is not necessary to be present to win I'm hoping that many of you will be able to turn out that day for the drawing.

Thank you very much for participating in this event with me and for becoming part of an effort to help find a cure for MS.

Good luck to you all and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Clif Midwood
