Yeah, he really thought he had me. The rule about DOT approved helmets being legal was changed last year. Right in the last couple pages of the ule book. Not a big enough change to "notify" members of MA.
And the "No borrowing" rule i wasn't aware of. In our new Covid Plan" we have to have to hold a race meeting.
No bike shops open in town, next town an hours drive away.

But Karen sold me a brand new helmet for $55 ! And she didn't even want me to pay her for it at all !

We ALL hate MA.

Here they have to have the latest Snell sticker and be less than 2 years old! I always thought it was a plot by the helmet companies to sell more helmets? And the good ones seem to have gotten alot more expensive?

The FIA standards are the pinnacle of helmet standards, however some smaller series are completely unaware of its rating. Most are used to the Snell SA ratings (Nomex liner/ yellow chin strap) or the Snell M or Snell K. This sometimes leads to a well engineered helmet and HANS piece of equipment being deemed unusable for the event by a misinformed scrutineer.
As for getting a helmet with the rating for $55 that’s a pretty good deal, being that I have helmet receipts with a $3500 bottom line.

I gave up and went to sww the Doctor yesterday.

He gave me some really strong painkillers. That was all of the good news.

he thinks I've "wrecked" another disc. I'll have a scan done next week. (Unless it gets better before then)

I've only got about 5 weeks until The Queensland Championships. The Victorians have already entered. They have to do 2 weeks quarantine at their own expense. That's $3,000. But they are very keen to come and try to steal our Gold.

On the bright side, I might have a used helmet for sale soon. Only done 3 laps.

Not looking too good at the moment.

This is looking very much like the end of my racing.

I have been approached about the possible sale of my sidecar and I am now considering this.

I will keep playing with these old things. I don't know what else I can do.

But perhaps it's just time for me to admit I'm too old to keep doing this.
