Default Moto Iron Springer on a Stock 2001 Sportster

Moto Iron on 20001 Sportster:

Fellow Forum Members

Question.

(1). Will the Moto Iron Springer front end install onto the 2001 Sportster without further modification?

(2). Will the fork lock tab on the frame need to be cut?

(3). Will there be any modifications necessary to the fuel tank in the stock position.

(4). I'm running 6" risers with the 1" lane Splitter bars. - What length of stainless steel braided cable do I need?

Any help with theses questions are greatly appreciated,

Only thing I could find on the forum

Won't answer your detailed questions though.

On my 2001 883. I had to grind the stops on my lower triple tree for the single disc wide glide front end. Steering lock is not used. I Pm'd you some offsite links with info. Like I said. TC Bros may have some answers since they sell the specific front end you started this thread with ..

It will fit but it will hit the tank as the stops are not long enough to fit. I used clear vinyl tubing and a giant zip tie to solve the issue but it does limit the steering a bit but I've never had an issue. Here is a pic.

Zoom in on the neck and you'll see the tubing and how close the top of the springer is to the tank.
