Default stator

22,250 miles

one stator...that said my bike has seemed "off" for about 8k to 10k miles. it has a history of sputtering in the cold or just when it's not full hot. i think alot of the issues I have had on my bike can be explained by a troubled charging system.

26,000km on my Buell X1 and My stator said hello to a magnet in my rotor...What a mess...putting in a new accel stator and waiting on a OEM Rotor and sprocket...what a mess. Graphite chunks everywhere, Although It could of been worse if I didnt catch it when I did...

Not sure if stator is at fault. I've gone through multiple batteries. Average battery life = 18 months. I finally made the decision to replace the stator to see if it helps. Only time will tell.

No problems on my 04.

Although, I did have to replace one after I dropped it while changing out the primary sprocket for a 38 tooth one.

Talked to a guy the other day that had an 09.......he got his bike replaced on the Lemon Law because of stator issues!
Spent more time in the shop than on the road!
In fact....the 2nd one they put in locked up!!!!! Blew the magnets!

2005/1200 Custom. One battery at 30K no stator or regulator issues. One note: At about 5K I started to get over-voltage error codes (minor code so you have to look for it). Traced it to the regulator to frame ground. 2 star washers under the regulator bolts and loosing the chrome regulator cover fixed it. The manual diagram does not show a frame ground but it needs one. I also suspect that under certain conditions, the chrome cover causes the regulator to over heat.

ok at 15,250 on my 06 rubber, i believe only the buell's and big twin's possibly use 3 phase units, they charge at low rpms unlike the sporty's single phase needing higher rpms to charge, i will replace single with 3 phase should mine ever die

Default Stator no; regulator yes

Engine light came on; stopped for gas; no battery power to start the bike (including bump-starting it). I had it towed to the dealer and found out it was the voltage regulator. They replaced it under the extended service plan (plus $50 deductible) as well as reimbursing me for the tow.

The bike ran without a problem and as a matter of fact the engine light went off on the highway.
