Default Tube frame engine mounts?

Did the tube frame Buells have a top engine mount?
The mount between the cylinder heads on Sportsters.
I can't find a picture that clearly shows.

The short answer to your question is yes, there's a mount between the frame and the engine at the top, between the cylinder heads. But it's just a heim link. At allows the motor to move up and down, but not side to side.

The longer answer is that Buell tubers are rubber mount bikes. There are two main assemblies: the engine/swingarm/rear wheel assembly, and the frame/front end/front wheel assembly. Literally when you take a Buell apart, you support the front of the motor, and then take the frame/front end/front wheel assembly off the engine/swingarm/rear wheel assembly and roll it away like a wheelbarrow.

Where these two assemblies attach to each other is with three rubber mounts and either three or four heim links, depending on the model. The rubber mounts are located at the swingarm pivots on each side, and also at the steering neck. The heim links are located on the top of the swingarm block, the front of the motor at the oil filter pad, and at the top of the motor between the cylinders. Certain models also have a fourth heim link just under the steering neck.

The heim links allow the engine/swingarm assembly to move up and down relative to the frame, but not twist torsionally relative to the frame. It's what Buell called it's "isoplanar" rubber mount system. It works because of the single crankpin with knife-and-fork rods. The motor only generates vibrations in one plane.
