I guess I asked for that one.

I've got several of the rope type that I know I've had for more than 10 years.
I've thrown 1 away due to be too dry.
The others aren't as quick to stick to your fingers although they are still tacky enough to plug a tire.

I'll keep the others too then. They don't look real good but if they'll work when needed, good enough.

You need the vulcanizing fluid with the permacure plugs, the fresher the better. We had a guy that used the rope style alot and he used chassis grease to put them in??? Never seemed to have a problem but said the rope plugs had to be fresh.

I smeared the ''slime'' plug with the rubber cement that comes with the kit and that lubes it on the way in and helps seal it, I guess.
