I like the idea but who would decide what content it would contain when there are different opinions on how to do something?
Aslo, isn't this forum an open area where anyone can post. edit, add and delete all the procedures until there heart's content?
I don't think there is a maintance job, modification, or repair on these bikes that is not covered or will be answered on the XLF.
I like wikis because it is always have a source of info for anyone without paying some stupid ass download fee. But nothing can be better than shared knowlege right here.

I think there would need to be a group of knowledgeable people that could arbitrate differences.

I think a Wiki would be good because it would be more organized, searchable.

It could take all the great maintenance, modifcation, and repair stuff on XLF and put it into a format which is easier to read and much better organized.

Plus we could have organized parts lists for all years, makes, and models. It would take a lot a work, but over time it could be done.

We should vote on the contributors. There are some knowledgeable members here, but there are some I would not ask the time of day.

I like the wiki idea. Contributors could be voted on and any conflicting information could go through peer review kind of thing. It would also be nice to have pictures showing detail of assembly or function.

I think a group of editors and approvers would need to be voted on. But a wiki works by allowing anyone with knowledge to contribute.

The approvers and editors would decide if what was added or changed stays.

Great idea !
I'm a unix/linux specialist with about 12 years experience and I've been using wiki like documentation systems for years.
My suggestion would be mediawiki. This is the wiki version wikipedia is using.
If it's good enough for them it would sure suit us I guess.
Also the syntax it one most people that have used wiki's will be used to and very easy to learn for new users.
I will run as long as you have a apache or iis webserver, php and a mysql database.
So it will probably also run on the server that the xlforum.net vbportal is runnig on.

@bplinson : Is the forum running on a linux box by any chance ?
Whenever you need someone setup stuff on a linux of unix box I can help.
I've setup different wiki's multiple times already.
So if I can help out in any way let me know.
