Oow that sucks but I'm thinking it turned side ways. had a mustang do that to me once what do your anti rotation pins look like?

+2 - sure looks like the lifter rotated to me, you can see the skid marks on the lifter roller where it was running sideways on the cam. I don't see how the cam could be the culprit, it just took the beating.

My experience with high output motor dictate me to check for the lifter bore very closely, I've state before that I believe that lifter stay good a long time and the bore seem to be overlook often. I've always match the lifter with proper bore on high lift application. Worth the time to check this situation.

In that position would the valve open early and close late also? Should you be worried about valve to piston contact?
