Default Tire change

Greg, I’ve got two long tire spoons, nice leverage, a couple of semi crippled hands, experience and would be glad to swing down and pitching whenyournew tirearrioves, keep me posted.
If the Ironhorse materializes in September I m,ay want a new front tire on Black Beauty, could run back down there for it as well.

Well the “Forces of Darkness” are plaguing my front wheel choices. I’ve found at least 3 and probably more bad/broken spokes on the 19” hamburger brake wheel. Not feeling all that great about the rim either, after a close inspection. So much for my previous OEM remark.

??? Spend money on spokes from Buchanan for the “19 or spend almost as much on some brand new go kart calipers that would match the rotors still on the 21” wheel and fab up some new brackets ???

I have more steel than brains lately, if that points where I’m going.

Which is easier? It is how this one man show rolls.

Sometimes. I just give up and take jap bike parts to the dump.

Edit. More iron than sense. Must be a West Texas Virus.

Thank you both! I found a somewhat local shop that will do it for a reasonable price and hopefully as I wait. The shop I used to go to raised their price, always required a return trip and sold me a very old tire last time.......

As for the tires, I have a friend who will change them for me at a very low price if I take the wheels off and take them to him. No big deal.

Now for my current problem. I've managed to take a simple job and make it hard. I'm changing the rear brake pads on my 2005 Sportster for the first time, ever. It's 2020 and the piston has 15 years of crud on it and I've been grunting and groaning for hours on trying to push it in. (Yes, the top is off the master cylinder reservoir.) I sprayed the piston with Brake Cleaner last night and again before breakfast this morning. I'm ready to go try again. AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

Looked up the price of an “All Balls’ high torque starter.
Just when the bike is running and riding freakin awesome, the starter clutch hangs and the bike won’t start when it’s hot. Let it cool for for a couple of minutes and she’ll fire right after a loud clunk.
Original starter on a 2005 Roadster.

Hay, might give a look at Terry Components Starting systems. 771581 is the starter I got for 06. I think they are an American co. Got there cables also. Better cables than stock.

UPDATE on the rear caliper. My piston is frozen in place. I've broken putty knife blades and used BIG pry bars. The Blue Bible says to not remove the caliper body but I guess I'll have to do that and take it to a professional mechanic with special tools.
To quote Eric Von Zipper, "Why me? Why is it always me?"
