Default What would you ask the Sportster Engineers/Designers?

If you were given 30 minutes to one hour to interview one of the top Sportster engineers what questions would you ask?

Please provide specific questions. I am going to attempt to get a telephonic interview with one and post the interview here.

Are they truly trying to design Sportsters to be female friendly?

Why don't they improve the brakes (possible dual setup) and the shocks from the factory?
Do they (the engineers/designers) actually ride the bike with the stock seat?
When is EFI going to happen on the Sportster?

I'm sure I can think of some more.

Why don't they do a high-performance edition with the following:

100 horsepower engine
Adjustable suspension ala 1200S
Rearsets
2-1 exhaust
Solo seat

Why did you reduce the cornering clearance?
Why did you get rid of the good (1200S) shocks & forks?
Why aren't the good (1200S) shocks & forks available as aftermarket then?
Why did you make the bike heavier and less nimble?

I'm with RedRider...I want to see a true "Super Sportster"...don't worry about price...say 16,000+/-...that gives 9000+/- that can go into each engine and suspension setup...not some comfortable touring 2-wheeled-luxury-liner...I want a no frills mean high power to weight ratio motorcycle that handles well in the twisties....something that is almost scary to ride I want something that can get going right off the line and keep going until it hits the limit of the rider...not the motorcycle
hmmm...
maybe I just want a buell ...nahhh...it has to have the classic sportster look too...and while they are at it...get rid of the new fat tanks!

why not have the bike stock with the stage 1 already done?
example- the stock set-up should have a #45 jet instead of the 43.
Should have less restrictive A/C and mufflers.
This would not cost Harley any more to make a Sportster with these upgrades than it does now. But it would be easier and more cost effective on the buyers, and save them from changing their setups.(which has to be done anyway)

I know they would never tell us, but I'd like to know the MoCo's plans for the Sportster in 2007. I certainly hope its more than just paint and special badging. What they did with the 35th Anniversary FXD is pretty nice, but come on, 17K plus for a dyna? I'm afraid if they do come out with an anniversary model it will be unaffordable for most Sporty buyers.

because it would be illegal
the EPA would frown uppon them....with a large stick

....of course that also takes my idea and throws it out the window as well so....hmmm...unless they put one of those big V-Rod exhausts on it...ick
