Funny how something that's been an American legend for generations all of a sudden has to change so dramatically for today's wet behind the ears kids as to turn off the ones that made them what they are.
No accounting for taste I guess. Yuk. Can you say ugly?
My 05C is gonna be my last bike unless I build another. I wouldn't spend a dime on this new crap.

Kind of makes you wonder where this country will be 30 years from now. Glad I won't be around to see it.

Peoples tastes generally change as they age. Mine did. Your bones and joints change too. Mine have. This determines what Ill be riding. Demographics of customers change so HD will change too. I think it will always be edgy and that's why people buy their products. Product lines will rationalise as sales shift from traditional strong sellers to a new era of motorcycle. As it was said previously, Boomers are probably on their last new motorcycle. I have a few more years left in me I would hope and being 44 now I would like to think I can buy a near new Ultra Limited for my 50th (bucket list). After that I really couldn't care. Ill have enough iron in my stable to see me out.

What made my switch from the metric camp to HD was pretty simple...
HD wanted to help me make my bike my own as easy as falling over. Biggest accessories and custom parts inventory I have ever seen. You can change anything on your bike to anything you want and its bolt on / bolt off.
IMHO other motorcycles are an appliance. They work and they do what they are designed to do. Fantastic. Just like my Camry it gets me from A to B reliably, safely and efficiently but doesn't stir my soul. Id buy a Mustang tomorrow if I had the $. But wouldn't daily drive it. Its thirsty, impractical expensive rubber... I hope you get what I'm trying to articulate.

Just like the engine, evolution is key to survival in a changing environment.

You can buy a V6 Challenger for less than a Camry, about the same MPG and a lot more soul.
