My school, the Teacher would borrow a pocket knife from a student to open a new can of snuff.
It was common to have a rifle and a shotgun in a rack in the back glass of a students pickup. We would come in from hunting and clean and butcher the deer in AG class as part of the lesson. Shooting and hunting safety was a thing at school.
I can't even imagine schools like ya'll are talking about or even the schools how they are today.

Schools in northern Québec on reservation are still like that. There, the arms racks are adjacent to the kindergarten gyprock wall. The students shoot clay pigeons in the school yard. Once a student shoots at a window, I called him misshot, ten years pass and they still call him Misshot. Since then, no more students aim at the school windows.

I'm an old fat ugly man on a $3500 bike with very little to steal. You can hurt my feelings but I've got nothing to prove. There is nothing on the bike I feel worth the risk of an armed conflict.

I'm pretty sure I'm not qualified to protect others who are threatened so I'm back and forth on getting a concealed carry permit. I'm willing to listen to some opinions on the subject of protecting others, but as for me I just don't see it.

I used to carry a high point. It was heavy and bulky but never jammed and if I had to throw it in a field it was only $250 not $1000+
