No. All it would do is dampen the hookup. Much like the stock spring plate did.

Thanks for the replies to my question.

FWIW:
- Getting use to the slightly different clutch was easy.
- I’ve had a slight squeal happen only a few (<6) times in the 10k miles since I installed the Barnett kevlar kit.
- The slight squeal happens so infrequently that I don’t know how to make the squeal happen.
- Since getting rid of the spring plate and when the engine’s cold and the bike is in gear, it is noticeably easier to break the stiction of the disengaged clutch and move the bike.

IMO only cons of a clutch pack without a spring plate or a judd spring is a little lack of adjustability... we have to remember that these are perf parts...

as for the occasional squeal, personally i could not care less about...

Thanks for posting this up as I was looking for a better alternative to the stock spring plate without inducing a potential squeal. The previous clutch I had in my Vette would frequently squeal upon taking off in 1st gear and it drove me nuts so I don't wanna go there ever again. With 15k miles of abuse and clutch dumps on the regular I can imagine my stock spring plate is on borrowed time so I ordered the parts and will give it a go.
