What if the engine was moved after the cams were removed? How would I set it back. I have torn down the engine several times trying to get the cams in the right location. The bike ran perfectly fine before teardown and now backfires and misses. I set the cams exactly as the book states but there is no reference to where the pistons need to be when aligning the marks. I don't know hwat else it could be.

I can see the rationale about the anti-seize causing the cam cover bolts to come loose. Would blue threadlocker work to both prevent galling and keep the bolts secure?

Won't Loctite just break down with the heat of the engine?

Dunno bout that. My stock breather bolts
were loaded with blue when I removed
them years back and the engine gets
pretty hot up there at the heads.

Was it still coloured blue? Once it sets it turns white.

Don't think that's going to happen but check out the sticky for Phillober's conversion. He outlined every step including cam install. I followed it when I put mine in.
