Default Speedo/Tach Combo

I just picked up a used 2006 1200C. Is there a drop-in speedo/tach out there that is an "easy" install? Thanks in advance!

Have a look on a dealers website. They do a drop in unit.

i have one from Dakota digital that drops right in and after you do the initial ride setup works really well. it also has a gear indicator on it also and costs less than the Harley factory one.

Would the gear indicator work on an 06 Sportster, or would I just not wire that part up?

Thank you!

On the Dakota Digital unit, apparently it does. On the H-D gauge: not (although I can't understand why it doesn't).

There is no 'wiring it up'. The gear indicator works by comparing engine rpm to road speed (strictly speaking: transmission mainshaft rotation).

folkie is correct, after install they will have you ride the bike in each gear for a specific time and the speedo compares that and assigns the gear
