Trust me to find this thread after starting a new one. I will remove the other and add my comments here.

MOVED FROM THREAD "PENRITE HPR GAS 20W60 is very good"

I have started using Penrite HPR GAS 20w60 engine oil and have to say that it is very good. In the past when it was available I used Pennzoil multi-viz and that was a good oil for Harley's but it is not anymore because they changed the formula. I have tried various other oils and non could perform as good as the Pennzoil until I started using the Penrite HPR GAS 20w60, I highly recommend it . Also for primary oil Valvoline HP80w90 is very good

I put Syn3 in the engine and trans on the first oil change, was quieter than the original oil. Then went to Mobil 1 second change in engine only, quieter still. Back to Syn3 now due to availability of Mobil 1 up North, though am about to put Mobil 1 back in engine and trans. Mobil 1 VTwin that is. Bike mostly does short runs to work (3km) with the odd long ride and drags in between. Have done 22,000km with no known side effects thus far, despite temps in high 40's through the wet season.

I use the Syn 3 also in engine and trans.
Done 10,000 using it no hints of a problem here.
Except its too expensive may switch too Mobil one or Castrol synthetic in the future.

Switched over and been using the Castrol GPS synthetic oil for the last 10,000 k's or so,
in engine and primary.
No problems here.
