There were some issues with oil consumption on NRHS conversions in the past, but I believe the problem was solved by changing to a different type of oil control ring. No more consumption. I'm sure Dan will chime in or you could just give them a call, phone number is at the top of this page.

As was said the first 2 years after the 2004s came out we had some oil consumption issues. We switched to a different oil control ring in 2007 and i have not had any reports of excessive oil use since.

Now understand that does not mean zero oil use. Acceptable oil use is less than 1 quart every 1,000 miles. this is HDs standard on all bikes. Typically our kits use about 1/4-1/2 quart every 1,000 miles.

Not enough options, so I voted as a NRHS 1212 kit.

My conversion is a true 1200 with Wiseco pistons, all from NRHS. Mine will use about a quart in 5,000 miles which isn't much.

I voted 1250 with no oil consumption issues. It uses oil, but no more than before the 1250 conversion. Over two years on this motor with no oil related issues, even with occasional nitrous use.

Not sure what HD expects...Never have my bikes used aquart in 1000 miles of riding...seems rather excessive
