Default 2002 883R turn signal vs start/ speedo numbers

Hi, I bought 883R with weirdly working blinkers. I took all bulbs off and bike wont crank and speedo mileage number does not show up. I put left rear bulb back and bike will start. If I put two bulbs to any corner bike start and speedo mileage numbers appear.

I tried to find any broken wires and ground in motor backmount looks good. I dont know where to start find reason for this? 2002 model year.

After double check I found broken groung connector. Now after repairing that left blinker dont work but right ones work normally.

Here is video. Left turn signal button seems to work. Because when right ones are blinking they stop blink after left button is pressed. Before this ground issue both turn signals "worked". They didnt blink but both turn on.

New bulb in every corner.

You didn't indicated whether both front & rear left-side signals are not working - I would assume so - but please clarify.

BTW, what ground wire was broken? Location?

Here's the Sportsterpedia section on Turn Signals:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/t...ring_-_general

From the Turn Signal Module (TSM) the RIGHT side blinking signal is on the BROWN wires and the LEFT side blinking signal is on the VIOLET wires.

From your YT video, it looks like the left switch is functional - as you noted, it appears to turn off the right side blinking, even though the left side is currently not working.

So, I would be tracing the VIOLET wiring that runs both forward to the front TS units and rearward to the Taillight Circuit Board (which distributes the signals to the taillight & turn signals).

Here's the taillight circuit board connector diagram:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/t..._license_light

This circuit board is exposed to water from the rear tire - You may want to open the taillight & clean that board.

Since the left indicator light is not working, I would guess the signal is not going forward from the TSM (VIOLET wire, pin 4). Or a bad connection where the front TS units connect with the main wiring harness.

Or, perhaps the VIOLET wire is pinched (shorted) somewhere along the way.

You can find the 2002 Sportster wiring diagrams at the HD site:
