Default Which Sportster car costs about 2000$?

Wow, I've been dreaming of owning a moto in the future. I like to experience the speed and fun it brings, but I've never had the experience of going to a shop and buying a car myself, so I don't know how to choose one that will be stable, and fits my budget of 2000$.

Can you suggest me? Thanks a lot!

I'd shop on Craigslist after doing some research and deciding what motorcycle will best fit your needs. Don't be a afraid to make a list of "pros and cons" about each bike as you narrow it down to what best meets your needs.

With $2000, I'd look into a nice used Yamaha XT 225/250, or even a Suzuki DR, or Honda XR. My buddy buys and sells all of these, but the XT seems to be most popular and easy to work on (for me). You'll probably have to find a great deal to get a reliable Sportster for $2000, but, I'm sure you can find someone with a "garage queen" or a "divorce sale" out there.

Rare indeed. I'm envisioning a tiny sports car with a V-twin mounted up front where the radiator would go. Not sure if they actually use a sportster engine, but I'm sure the lug nuts alone would cost more than $2000.

You can always find one in a couple of baskets at that price.

OP, not sure where you're from and what the exchange rate is but in the U.S. $2,000 might buy a running Sportster but it'll probably need quite a bit of work. If you can increase your budget to $3,000 and shop around you can get more for your money than starting with a $2k bike and putting in the time and money to get a solid runner. You're going to be looking at '86-'03 Sportster in that price range. I'd look for a 5-speed ('91-'03).

Good luck!

I have seen Morgan 3 wheel cars powered by Harley engines, but they weren't Sportster engines. If he means an actual Sportster motorcycle, it is going to be virtually impossible to find one in running condition for $2K, at least in my area. But if you double that, there are quite a few of them around.

Good luck there. Even the old iron heads are getting a bit spendy and hard to find. Finding one that is not a basket case for 2K is going to be a challenge.
