I use the dual fire but available single ( p/n 20100 dual ) about 120 bucks, no bells and whistles been running since 1975. for a few bucks more, ultima from jireh cycle and get the gold cup.

i would like to have the advance its a bit fun to just tinker with things sometimes where could i buy a compu-fire ignition system

Put yer thumb over the front spark plug hole while rotating the rear wheel (yeah, it's a bit of a stretch) and feel the air pressure. Ya gots to be certain.

Wait a minute...you are doing a static timing correct? For static timing you gotta find compression on the front cylinder.

Or are you using a timing light with the motor running? If so, disregard any of the nonsense that I wrote and worry not about compression.

Thanks for the reply, I am doing the static timing so get someone to turn the wheel while i feel for it to start to push air out of the front cylinder then get it to the advance mark and set the timing using the advance on the timing cam and should i use the small lobe to time on?

I got the compufire dual fire electronic ignition and installed it but i cant get spark i know the 73 has a positive ground wondering if that has anything to do with it
