I can't get away from Harley if I want street legal. On the Power Vision website I couldn't find any EPA compliant MAPS. It looks like I'll also need the Screamin' Eagle Street Performance Tuner Kit to get access to the EPA maps.

I ran this kit before I started my Hammer Perf 90" build. Its a solid worry free kit and makes around 100hp tuned. so the only difference between harleys "street legal" and "race" kits is the screamin eagle supertuner. To be street legal the kit will not come with a tuner and will get a digital technican ECM calibration instead. These calibrations are very lean, hence how they get away with street legal. I have an alternative solution for you. Build a Hammer performance motor to your liking, Buy a powervision tuner, save a copy of your original tune and also have a separate tune saved for your actual motor build. If stopped at a check point, just change the map real quick, takes about 45 seconds to do, pass the test, and reflash once your clear!

with the powervision before you flash your ecm with a PV calibration, you have the option to save the current original HD calibrataion inside the ecm, IF you save this tune to one of the 7 slots alotted for tunes, You will always have a Compliant tune saved. Just copy hammer performance timing tables over to the original tune calibration to keep it within safe running ranges!

This is certainly something to consider. Where would I get a map for the Hammer build that would be street legal? And / or would the Hammer build even run with a street legal map? I have no equipment to measure emissions to build a MAP. This is where I think the performance companies are dropping the ball. The world is changing.

I checked and the Harley street legal tuner has the street legal maps for intake, exhaust, and stage IV.

I believe the average police here in Germany are much better trained than the average police in the USA. I admit this is based on my perceptions of how they act and behave. Having never been through one of those control points I think it could be possible they are trained to recognize common workarounds to emission controls. I know many of the TUV inspectors are also motorcycle riders. Anyway much to consider.

you americans just don´t get it, if there is no eg number on the exhaust, you will not ride the bike before it´s fixed, cause it will be sitting at the police station undtil it´s done, that´s why you need a street legal exhaust like the street cannons from SE, the only ones with any sound is jekyl & hyde where there is a flap inside but you will get a ticket if they stop you with it open, same with the tuning, but if you buy the street cannons there is a cat inside and you can get away with using a race tuner from harley, ps. rick´s motorcykels has a big discount on the street cannons i toke the baffel out of my street cannons they sound alot more, ill also go the stage 4 kit when i have the money, right now iam stage one on my 2015 iron with race tuner, iven i as a dane will get stopped/banned from driving in germany if the exhaust is not street legal.

but at repperbahn they are a little soft he he

sören

Well there is at least one American living in Germany that get's it! This tight strict emissions and sound is coming to America one day too, is my prediction. California will likely be first however that was a safe bet.

Thanks for the videos. I never saw how these surprise checks were conducted and this confirms what I was thinking. I didn't see them checking emissions just sound level is emissions not done on these roadside checks?

i think they only do sound, but even iff the sound level is okey no E number on the exhaust NO riding everything must have tüv or a piece off paper you have to have with you on the bike.
but you can do alot and stil get tüv, us danes have strange rules and no guidlines, the germans even make a euro 3 cat for the vance and hines 2-1 competetion think that would yield the most, remus also make´s a nice 2-1 but not very loud with baffel and no 2 up, if you get the stage 4 please post the dyna sheet there are alot off good harley shops not like the us where they rip you off, ordnüng muss sein in germany
