50 miles each way now on my commute, I get 48-50 on most tanks, mostly Highway, with a small town in between and 5 traffic lights.

In town I'm in the low 40s lately, maybe upper 30s once in a rare while. I expect that to rise as I keep fixing problems. Hwy about 45. When it was younger and in good running shape, I got 45/50 for city/hwy.

Small peanut tank is 2.2 gallons. So you get 65+mpg? WOW! I just got 35 in town on my '06 883. Today on a road trip on my 2005 XL1200 got 52.5 mpg. We took our time and did not go over 60mph.

After a full year on my 2004 1200R my average mpg is just a tad over 49 mpg. I don't twist on it hard much at all, just enjoy the ride. I have a Cobra HP two into one exhaust, airbox opened up and jetted carb.

My 2015 XL1200CP (stock engine, stock exhaust, stock intake) with 23.7k miles usually gets 42-44mpg unless I’m trying to hypermile. Higher numbers for individual fill-ups are usually the result of incomplete fill-ups and/or the bike not being level.

I’ve used Fuelly.com to track mpg for the last 17k miles.

Just returned to Brittany, the furthest west in France, from Vienna in Austria, a round trip of some 2,200 miles. The majority was motorways and my 14 year old Toyota Corolla diesel averaged 78.6 mpg. I'd rather be getting 45 mpg on the IH and be enjoying every mile, but I couldn't find anywhere to put my suit for the wedding! :-)
