Smile Buell Blast Flattrackers....

Well....I'm not sure you guys will think these are worthy here ? So if you don't want them posted, you can delete this post. But here are a few pix of the Texter Flattrack Blast Racers.

btw- do you know who the Bleached hair fellow is, removing the wheel in the above photo ? Thats none other than Jared Mees, who was sponsored by Lancaster H-D/Buell, and this shot was taken a few years ago before he got picked up by the H-D Factory Team !

Btw- later on, those Buells were repainted with the same Blue frame color, with same darker orange and decals as the XR750 pic that was posted earlier. Unfortunately, those Buells aren't raced any longer, since they weren't very competitive, and now the AMA GNC rules don't allow them to compete in shorttrack Pro Events.

BTW- Cory's Dad(Randy) and his grandad "Tex" built Two Buell Blast powered shorttrackers for Cory also. At one time, one was a 600cc (585cc actually) and the other was a 500cc. The 600 raced against the Rotax 600's and never stood a chance, but the 500 ran against the old two valve Yamaha's -and Cory usually kept them behind him ! I have pix of those Buell Blast(using C&J race frames) flattrackers, if anyone would care to see them ?

Not exactly a flat tracker, but a cool Ironhead. Looks sort of like a Bonneville bike.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it (especially if you don't know what you're doing). Most Sportster problems are owner-induced.

Couple of pics from 1970. The first is #1 Mert Lawwill and his XLR at a TT event. The second is a non-factory iron XR750 (with a Sprint in the background).

It is snow - see the flake passing by between the tank and the camera?

I don't think it's an ice racer, though.

Here is an early video of boardtrack racing. I don't think there is any sound and the beginning is kind of boring, but it really picks up.

It reminds me of stories my Grandfather would tell me of going to see the boardtrack racers when he was young. He said some of the boards would rot out and they would sneak under the track. They would then stick their heads out of the holes and watch the race. As the bikes would come close, they would quickly duck their heads under the track. Could you imagine being one of the racers and seeing some kid stick his head up out of the track? It's bad enough yo gotta worry about the holes.
