well, hd said if it fits, ship and many trannies were noisy and clunky. if you blue-print to closest tolerance, it will mostly go away. normal, could be, i was surprised at how quite they can actually be!

This is a guess. But if I'm right you've got an unusually good working wet clutch.
this, when clutch lever is pulled the clutch gear is magically coming to a stop allowing silent shift, I'm not happy with my big twins unless they do this, but the ironheads usually don't. I'd say you've got a really good clutch in there.
