Did you have plugs installed when you checked spark?

These crank trigger ignitions need some compression, it's how they determine the cylinder phasing.

No i did not. Wil try this.
Is it meassured by the MAP sensor?

A guy at HD once told me it was based on the MAP sensor. But I don't think that's right, I think it's based on compression.

Bottom line, and I've seen this on crank trigger bikes that run perfectly, you remove the plugs and put a plug into it's wire and lay it on some metal to check the spark in the traditional way, and you get none. Whether it's the loss of compression or the loss of manifold vacuum that's causing it, I'm not sure. I suppose I could run an experiment to figure it out, but I'm not that curious.

1999 XL1200S - SE slips ons, SE ignition 5500, 6800 & 7500 RPM (I got worried about the ignition getting discontinued so I bought what I could)

These events include Hillclimbing, Flat Track Racing, Ice racing, Drag Racing, etc.. They are all sports dominated by Harley Davidsons. They are always located in scenic areas and are great weekend rides. The above link allows XLforum users to coordinate riding to these events together.

Yess... a little late but still....
Replaced the TC88 for a Thunder Heart ignition. Way simpler setup en fired right up!
