Hi, I'm Carroll, and I'm working on a '71 XLCH... Got it gapped/static timed with a new set of points and a condenser, adjusted the valve lash, carb seems OK, new battery, it's got spark at the plugs, and by all rights, it should start, but it's not being too cooperative, LOL!

Clean the carb? If there's any old dried gas gloop/varnish in it it won't start.

Hello fellow 71 CH er

Was the bike running prior to replacing parts and making adjustments? If it's got compression, spark and the timing is correct then I would focus on the carburetor and fuel supply.
