[QUOTE=Kbetts;5809219]

I also recommend a poly net seat cover $10 from Amazon. It allows extra cushion and tons of air to get between you and the seat. So much air that I have to take it off on winter rides. No more Monkey Butt. The come from southeast Asia where humidity and heat are a nightmare. Best $10 I ever spent on a motorcycle.

I'll agree with this. I use a Bead Rider seat cover. Think taxi drivers' beaded seat covers. Suprisingly comfortable for wooden beads.

Did few thousand miles through the Southwest 6-7 years ago on 04 883. Race tech suspension, extra qt fuel bottle, new tires before leaving, camped out a lot. Windshield is a must....plan tour day route and write in the inside of the windshield with dry erase marker. Erase and update as needed, eliminates fumbling with maps or trying to read a map fine print through the tank bag plastic.
