Default When do codes clear?...

My 07 was giving me codes of P0501 and P0505, I changed the VSS out today to fix it. Is the code clearing immediate? or is a few miles riding required to clear it out? Thanks

on my 2017 you have to clear codes yourself... new events are signalled also by flashing of the security red light on the gauge

Also on my 2008 you clear the codes yourself.
However sometimes the codes come back as 'Historical Codes' after the issue has been fixed and the original codes cleared.
These Historical Codes generally return several times but will disappear after a number of engine starts.

Ok cool, I went out and cleared the codes last night. Today is a rainy day so no rides, but rest of the weekend is going to be perfect. Thanks for the replies
