Default What’s the cost (Replace Clutch)

How much should it cost to replace a clutch ? Online is saying around 1,000 dollars. That seems really high for that kind of work

Replace entire clutch or just clutch plates? Will you do the work yourself or take it in for work?
Clutch plates should be under $200.00 USD for a reasonable brand. I purchased the Energy 1 Clutch for approx $220.00 Australian dollar a year ago, although i can not remember the exact price. Our Australian cost is approx 25% more than you may pay in the States due to our shit dollar.

I was looking at Barnett extra clutch plates it’s under 200 most sites I have been looking on. The clutch basket is 200 I am hoping I don’t need that but I have been told they are called grenade plates for a reason. I live in an apt with no garage so I have to take it to a shop

I had my dealer replace my clutch with the HD SE Clutch about 6 years ago.
It was about $375 total, the Clutch kit was ~200, 1 1/4 hours labor charged.

You can check the primary's drain plug on the street. You'll have to be quick so you don't lose oil but I would do it just to see what's up. All you need is a wrench and a thumb!

How many miles on the clutch/bike? Are you having issues with the clutch?

If low miles and no symptoms, I'd get the parts together & wait... Just monitor it for any signs of clutch not disengaging properly.

But it's your bike - you need to decide how confident you are in monitoring it for symptoms...

Got barnett with extra plates and had a shop install it. $400 or $450 USD. $1000 is insane.
