My bike was rewired....so the wire length was not stock. However, if you look at my sticky for ecm relocation options you will see plenty of other people who relocated their ecms in the same spot with the factory harness. My relocation would actually create more "slack" in the wires as with the cut battery tray it moves the ecm closer to the center of the bike. Now that is only 3/8" or so...but still closer.

Hi! I'm new to this forum but have been browsing it since I bought my XL in 2011. I am currently finishing my winter project on the 48 including an ECM relocation very inspired by yours. This is to thank you for sharing what you have done for the comunity. I tend to go overkill in enverything I do and I'm a true perfectionist. I pushed what you did to the next level if I may say and would would really like to share what I've done with the XL forum.

I was thinking about waiting untill I'm completed with the whole process and taking a picture then to start my own thread. I took pictures along the process and will gladly take the time to share it all.

We exchange emails, occasionally.
Having kids has changed his attention, although he is still rebuilding Jeeps.
Don't know if his Nightster is ridden much.

Can only add that he’s now back in Michigan.

I'm baaaccckkk!!!

As SportsterDoc mentioned.....kids change everything! I sold my Nightster i think in 2015ish when my daughter turned 1 yr old. As us avid riders know....riding your motorcycle is a risk we all take as we try to avoid getting killed by a cager. My kids having a father (Donald) Trump'd my love for my sporty. Some day....I would like to get another but that probably won't be any time soon since they are only 5 & 6.

I really hope everyone is doing well on this Forum. Spent a lot of time learning from here and hopefully helping a few folks out every now and then.

PS...thanks to Bert for reset of the password!!

Good to see you are BACK....!

I have asked others on the forum if they would like to participate in the building of the Sportsterpedia - a number have responded with very helpful information.

If you find specific areas of the Sportsterpedia in which you would like to contribute, please contact Hippysmack or myself to discuss how we can get your contributions added. (I promise there's very little risk of falling off the forum and getting road rash.) (Send a note to Sportsterpedia Admin)

Thanks for the invite. It has been ages since I have looked at sporty stuff and I am sure there are smarter people on here than me for contributions! Always willing to help if I have the time. Usually Doc reaches out to me when needed....but you guys handle 99.9999999999999% of all the issues on here anyways! That 0.00000000001% usually revolves around where did I get the nacelle for my sporty!
