Default Rubbermount oil consumption poll

May have been one of these, but not this specific...

This is for RUBBERMOUNT OWNERS ONLY!!

I'm curious to see how widespread this problem is among our members.

The MOCO says anything up to 1 Qt. per 1000 miles is NORMAL.

We will not argue THAT point, for these purposes, let's just compare our experiences...

If yours DID, but has been fixed...VOTE YES for your year...

The MOCO says 1 qt/ 1000 mi. is normal because that is the INDUSTRY STANDARD. If you asked suzuki, toyota, honda, GM or any other company than they would give you exactly the same response.

3 quarts come out every oil change and three go right back in. my oil level is perfect. i run the regular interval (5k) and use rev tech 20/50 oil in my stage 1 (minus heads) 05 low

Well, there were two reasons I set up this poll....

One is this statement, from another thread:

Later, he admits he's being a bit dramatic.... ....which is fine, but I believe the number is about the polar opposite...

Secondly, I'd like to know, for my own purposes, if this is or is not limited to 04/05 bikes....

You should have specified stock/stage 1 rubbermounts. Some conversions are having oil consumption problems and that seems to be at a much larger percentage than stock oil consumption.

My bike uses maybe ½ quart between oil changes every 5,000 miles.

We've already had a poll about conversions and oil usage...

Not even sure stage 1 is an issue at ALL...(Stage 1 not to be confused with converted, right?...you mention both)

Depending on the results, maybe we'll narrow some things down later...when a good number of votes are in...

For right now, I'm just interested in the overall prevalence of the problem, and more specifically with regard to years..

I don't care if its an 883 or a 1200, what's been done to it, nothing...other than a problem existing (or having existed once) and the year....

BTW...if you vote yes...PLEASE elaborate...

Stage I on my 06 1200C, and it used a quart between the 5000 and ,7500 mile oil changes. I don't run it too hard though. WOT once in a while, and run 70-80 on interstate, run easy in the twistys. I'm not complaining. Hope I never have to.

05 883C
didn't use much oil at all when still an 883, used a quart every 500-600 miles after conversion to 1250.

Just out of curiosity, how many miles on it before the conversion?
