Custom seat on a standard??
Hi, I have a 2005 1200R and can get a good deal on a Saddleman seat w/drivers backrest that was on a Custom. Has anybody tried mounting a seat for a Custon or a regular Sportster? I would not mind a gap between the tank and seat.
Thanks

Yes; that's what Harley did with the Nightster. As you say, it leaves a gap between the seat and the tank. You would need to be sure that the new seat fits an '04 - '06 bike with the ICM under the front part of the seat. A seat made for a later bike may, or may not, fit your bike.
