Codes again !!!!!
Hi all before you all go FFS not another code thread its just for my peace of mind.
So i had a couple of codes on my 04 883c carb model which first indicated a problem with my crank position sensor then after swapping it out it popped up my ignition control unit was faulty (on removal the contacts were heavily corroded).
So i swapped that out and tried the marrying up process. First couple of times it coughed then started but wasn't right.
Going back to her yesterday after charging battery at the end of the sequence it still wouldn't start but i noticed it wouldn't allow fuel through now and it threw up the p1009 code which i am sure means that the password still wasn't learnt(thats why no fuel) Which was a step closer to me as it is acting as it should because it hadn't learnt the code.
So now in my head its go back and try the marrying sequence again until she fires up.
The other thing that has thrown me a bit is that in the clock diagnostic mode the t position (Tachometer i believe) reads norsp with handle bar switch set to run......i thought that norsp only flashed up when the switch was not set to run.
Does this mean i have another problem as well as the code not being learnt.
Thanks all
Ride safe

On models not equipped with a tachometer "No Rsp" will appear when the tachometer identifier is selected. "No Rsp" (no response) will also appear if the run/off switch is in the off position when doing this procedure

It means no response from the tach. I'm assuming you don't have a tach?

Fuel flow is only with tap and a vacuum on your year. As Gunner says, you are seeing no rsp because you don't have a tach fitted.

Oh what fun I am having I have no error codes now but instead of the engine check light coming on briefly in the first part of the learning procedure my hazards flash once. Time to start over again I guess
