R.I.P. Scruffie. Feeling for you Jim.

I'm all too familiar with the pain of saying goodbye. My fur buddies have broken my heart each and every time. Zoomie was 12 months ago and I still miss her daily. Sending my hugs and sympathies.

For Stairman in memory of his beloved friend, Scruffie.
Cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully understanding the necessary plan....

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When a dog dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water, and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the dogs who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. Scruffie is happy and content, except for one small thing; she misses someone very special to her, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when Scruffie suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent. Her eager body quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and Scruffie finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. Her happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress her beloved head, and you look once more into Scruffie's trusting eyes, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.........

I've been keen to keep up some outdoor therapy this week. Only been taking the phone camera, but Cal and I enjoyed a couple of nice beach and bay walks.

Had take away coffee on the steps this morning. A truly beautiful calm day.

I wonder if Oz gets red algae like the US. Currently waiting for it to die down here in Fla.

Usually the very still conditions don't last more than a few hours, so it doesn't get clumped too often fortunately. Got to see a bioluminescent algae glowing earlier this year. That looked pretty cool.
