10 year old post?

Funny - it popped up like it was current... hell if I know why!

Maybe from surfing on my phone instead of a computer?

Oh well...

Oh, and I stand by my previous remark: ethanol IS evil as a gasoline additive!

I've known Bill W (and Dr Bob) since 07/05/1983, and miraculously, they, and others like them, have kept me sober ever since. The last time I saw Dr Bob was in June of 1995, when a couple thousand of my 5th Chapter MC brethren invaded Akron for AA Founders Day Weekend. The ride back to Chicago was unforgettable. Rain from just outside Akron until hitting the Chicago Skyway. The weekend was an unforgettable experience as well. I've got to get back to the garden!

what I can say about this is that I was raised by heroin addicts... I was not taught how to live life on lifes terms..... the steps for me have become a framework for living....I do my best to apply them to my daily life ... AA has brought me a long way ....there was a time when I first came in that I thought about putting a bullet in my head every day...thank god thats behind me.. I should be dead or locked up... but Ive become the kind of man people can count on... Im happily married, my kid loves me:-) Im happily employed, own a house, eat good food and even ride a motorcycle :-) ... working the steps with a sponsor has been really amazing and now Im working with a therapist at 49 years of age dealing with my ACOA stuff, how I move through life emotionally still as the kid who had no one to count on I believe will finally bring me real peace... I feel like I should be a man and let go of the past but those lessons and experiences I had as a kid are something the steps havent really been able to help me with .... the steps and AA have saved my life.... and it was my sponsor who suggested the ACOA work... so in a sense Bill and Bob have brought me that too :-)
Bill and Bob have saved many many lives :-) and Im eternally grateful
take care
JAK
