Default who makes a lowering rear shock for the xl??!!

I've looked high and low for a substantial lowering shock for my 83 ironhead xl. I cant find one that is compatible. anyone know of a shorty/lowering shock that will work?

79 up can use EVO shocks, pretty sure the geometry is all the same.

30 years ago I had Koni rear shocks that used standard Sportster springs. It was one of the best things I ever did to that bike. The Konis were specifically made for Sportster. I got tired of the stock Monroes snapping off . You wouldn't know that one was busted until the other one broke too then you had a spring mobile, boing,boing..

Regardless of what you use to lower the bike, IMO, the results may look cool to some, but the fit to the bike and the ride will be at best disappointing.

When you lower a Sportster you change the relation of the arc of the rear wheel to the mainshaft sprocket. Maybe smarter people than me can better explain this.
