sorry I've been neglecting the XR-1000 RX for a bit... I've been delayed by the boat repower Project... I ended up having to nearly cut the boat in half and extend the engine bay by a foot to wedge the new engines in... they are only 160 HP/side but after this I can go up to 250HP per side when I need to go faster....

Cool bike.
Shocks look like Showa's from a Dyna Sport? I have a pair from a Sportster Sport on mine and think they may be a tad shorter.. They are a 1000% improvement over stock though.
I also welded up the damper rod in the fork per the HD race prep paper and it did improve the front fork.

Agreed !!!
I had sportster sport front and rear on my XR till recently...it now wears 2012 XR1200X/HD Performance kit triple adjustable front and rear. I have the same forks on my 99 XL1200s and with 1 click of preload thery are perfect... Im guessing the XR will need no preload...

rolled the XR-1000 RX project into a new house today... 6x6x12' enclosed trailer.... rebuilt the trailer first... new coat of roof sealer, replaced every screw holding the skin to the frame with stainless, straightened the axle, painted the rims and put new 15" LRD goodyears on it, serviced the wheel bearings, new springs and greasable shackle bolts, welded a tube into the rear spring hangers to carry the grease, 1 3/4 longer shackle's to adjust for the bigger tire diameter... painted the undercarriage and door frames, a wash and wax and she good to go...
