Well yes, that's rather obvious but can you elaborate on why not to go with a rubberband manifold so as to understand more completely.
Can it not be done, doesn't seal as well, etc.

I'm familiar with an o-ring manifold/head config in usage but not a rubberband manifold on an o-ring head, so would like to gain some experienced knowledge to comprehend the pro's/con's.

The two sealing methods are not cross compatible.

I was thinking the same. Your heads are either O Ring or rubberband type, follow that with your manifold.
I believe there are adapters for using rubber bands, & rubber band manifold, on O Ring heads but don't know if they're any good.

Just because you can (or some mf'er makes a part), does not mean it is good and will not fail.

There is no reason to get off on the wrong foot here.
He doesn't have a manifold, so he should get the right manifold that matches his heads.

There is no reason to avoid one or the other they both work fine.
There is definitely a reason to not mix parts that are not compatible.
There is no reason to undermine advice to do things right.

Mr Munroe drove for a few miles substituting a piece of fire wood for a wheel.
He didn't do it because someone was selling firewood to replace wheels, he did it to get him to a place where he could fix it right.
