If I remember correctly, the Ram Jet manifolds had the mounting flanges cast into them. They still had the casting "witness marks" in them, just like the OEM intake's. I wasn't impressed when I saw one. Over the years I've been doing this, when I remove an intake manifold I use a small grinding stone in my air grinder and cut down the internal casting marks. Does it turn it into a race bike . . . hell no. It just removes a simple casting imperfection Does it flow more air????? Maybe, but just makes me feel good to do it.

actually you will get more bang for the buck doing the exh side.
the inlet runner is SOOOO short, the roughness actually help the charge to mix better.

This was not a Performance upgrade.. IMO it is an excellent replacement for the old Rubber boot manifolds, and as a Plus... they are Strong enough to lift the Engine by them.. However, since I like the CV for the street... I will retain the Newer flange type intake with push on Spigot.. Performance?? ... The Same
