Default 2011 vs 2017

Hello friends. I have a 2011 1200. Pipes, air fp3. I just bought a 2017 Roadster. Put on same pipes, air fp3. Same map. The 2011 feels so rowdy and brutal (In a good way). Where as the roadster feels almost Jap bike smooth. I swear the 2011 feels faster. The Roadster also feels like it's geared waaayyy taller but the specs say the same. That could just be the wheel diameter though. 16 vs 18. But the motors feel COMPLETELY different. Anyone know of differences between the two? I almost wish the 2011 motor was in the Roadster. I had some friends ride them and they say the same thing. Thanks

Rear wheel tire diameter difference is only about 3% (667mm vs. 646mm) so that would not account for much...put a 16+ Roadster wheel on my 08 and did not even need a speedo correction.
