Might as well be the end. I wouldn't call the new shit a sportster anyway.
Making anything EU compliant will be the death of it.
Sportster and EU compliant is an oxymoron.

She might have another year or two left in her, but the current incarnation of the Sportster will most likely be dead soon, barring they find a way to rehash the current air cooled mill to make it emissions compliant, but I don’t think the current engine platform can be pushed any further in that direction.
I’d like to see a brand new air cooled mill that is emissions compliant, like the BMW R9T. Or even a liquid cooled mill that looks exactly like the air cooled one, like the Triumph Bonnies. I like the Revolution engine, but it would definitely look better in a bike like the Bronx, not in a Sportster body.

After looking at the new sportsters all I can say is Harley must have found a good deal on black paint cuz I didn't see a hint of a chrome fastener or any other shiny stuff. This blacked out theme doesn't work for me
|
