Default Adding electric start...was there one on here before?

I uven’t taken it apart to look, but that appears to be a block off plate like there was a starter on there before...73 XLCH. Judging by the block off plate, maybe there was a starter on there before? Worst case scenario, how much and how difficult to install an electric start?

Best if you post in the ironhead forum. Wealth of knowledge on your subject in that section.

if it is a "CH" it had no starter. the engine case is shared across the line so the blanking plate.
can you add a starter, sure, i put the electric foot on my 1974 ch, you will need the kidney tank and battery tray, best to get a kit. i got mine through V_TWIN. i got the hatachi model but they have the prestolite kit also.
