Just what I need, bad juju...lol. I have a gremlin bell, but I guess it only protects the bottom of the bike.

I don't know what's normal for most people, but I'm a dirt bike rider, and I ALWAYS have at least one finger hooked on the brake lever. It totally works to anchor your hand to prevent 'whiskey throttle'. Riding a bike through the woods on rocky trails is not really possible unless you do this. Bumpy roads and a hard suspension seem like a similar challenge.

May not be the case for this particular riders scenario, but I feel dirt riding definitely sharpens the road skills in more than one situation. I do it regularly.

I ride all my bikes like dirtbikes....I mean all of them. I get air on my 700lb K1200 on a regular basis. Cant help it.
The reaction time needed in the dirt helps a ton on the street, the jumping and airtime is just a bonus for me!

Years ago my high school teacher taught us in shop, that a Lathe is a Lathe is lathe. All perform the same task. I apply that theory to motorcycles. They are there for me to abuse, smile and repair to do it all over again.
A bike is a bike is a bike!!

Perhaps that's why the Motor Company is producing dual sport bikes in 2021. Or they have noticed the poor condition of many streets in the country.
