That's exactly what Trump is doing. Not that I'm endorsing Trump but he does occasionally have some good ideas and he understands the negative impact the EPA has had on the economy.
Any emissions restrictions on motorcycles is ridiculous. Even on other passenger vehicles it's gone way too far. Its affecting the economy way more than most realize.
They're going to regulate us right into the poor house with CA if left unchecked.
The number one cause of engine problems in big trucks and warranty issues is emissions related. As a truck driver, I can promise you that cost is past on to you, the consumer. It cost more to truck everything so the cost of everything goes up.

Much as I hate the new engines, they really do run MUCH cleaner. The difference is stunning...you can tell the age of the trailers at work at a glance: all trailers that were bought before 2013 (when the last pre-emission truck was turned in) have soot stains on the right front corner. The ones bought 2013-15 have a little soot. The ones bought after 2015 (when the entire fleet was 2010+) have ZERO soot on them.

True story. When I first bought my Pete I leased on to a company out of Jacksonville. I was still in Mesa having rented my house here in Dubuque out for a year.
I was bobtailing to Jacksonville to sign on and do orientation on 17 just outside Flagstaff when I got a call from the company big guy asking if I could detour through St. Louis and pick up a load that was on it's way to just outside Atlanta when the driver called he was broke down. Had a dock time of 4 pm the next day.
Drove hard thru the night, picked it up and got it delivered in time.
Technically I should've even been pulling it as I wasn't even signed on yet and all that meant but they paid me well.
Slept in and got to Jacksonville the following evening and met the top dog of the company for dinner in some sleazy bar.
He says to me "I like you guys with the big old Petes and KWs with the smoke stacks. I know you're going to get it done and I'm not going get calls your broke down somewhere and have to find someone to do what you just did."

No bullshit.
It's a crying shame that 6nz is a thing of the past for the most part. Hard to find even for gliders.
1.7 on the clock when I sold it and never tore down. Didn't use a drop of anything and never let me down.

Subscribing to this thread.

I never had done, performance mods with bikes before.
I've been generally happy with what ever tune state the bike was.

Until now.

The power is fine, more than what I need

But triggers my OCD the rattles and pings that I experience sometimes,
And makes me paranoid about with engine longevity

Never had a bike dying on me before, and I don't want this one to be the first
... cross fingers and touch wood

I can't believe somebody kept this bike for 3 years 5000km running like this.
It never passed 2500 rpm ?

...anyway!

I'm voting yes because there is no turning back now, I'm at Stage 0.66 I think , just missing a high-flow-air-filter

From "stock," a stage 1 is a good upgrade and increases the longevity of any engine as long as it is done right. An engine is nothing more than air pump, the better you can make it inhale and exhale, the better. Not only that, but lets not forget that fuel also aides in keeping the engine cooler.
