Default XR1000 Pushrod Tube Leaks

When I got my XR1000, it hadn't been broken in properly and every external seal leaked. Now it looks like one of the pushrod tubes for the front cylinder is leaking. Am I correct that the only way to replace them is to remove the motor and lift the head in order to remove the tube and replace the seal?
