Armor? Who needs armor? It's all about airbags now!

... if you've got thousands to spend on padding.

For a never taken it to a track budget, I've got a too big Joe Rocket jacket with pads shoulders, elbows/forearms, and back. But nobody makes sleeves long enough for me, so that's been the sticking point, despite not really loving the jacket. Rev'it has been the closest so far, but 2-4x the price of the Rocket for a little bit closer to long enough didn't cut it for me.

Although nothing beats good old leather for abrasion resistance, once the temps get into the 80s, 90s and 100s leather just isn't a good option because of overheating. So I break out the body armor. I feel like an old dork in a cosplay or LARPing outfit but it's better than nothing.

I wear a Teknic mesh for summer and an Icon Titanium in colder temps...both of which came as a result of sharp eyes at the resale store. My gripe with the Icon is that it has no exterior pockets...but I can't complain too much for 75 bucks.

That's one (of many!) of the things that I like about the Klіm Bаdlands: it has lots of pockets: 8 on the outside, and three on the inside.

This my armoured leather jacket, we’ve been together for nearly two decades and many bikes and it never let me down although it needs the colour renewed

I’ve been using a dri-rider jacket for a few years now. It’s a summer mesh thing with a removable rain liner, elbow and shoulder armour with padding in the back. I have tested it once, seemed to work well, can hardly see where I hit the tarmac at about 60kph.
