Default Crane hi 4

Hi there!
I got a "new" ignition today. As title sais it's a crane hi 4 with crane coil. I got it for 200€ (around 220$), which is extremly good price here.
Ok, I read the instructions, check some threads over the web and so.
Anyway, are there any tips that are not mentioned in instructions?
What do you guys suggest me, run it with voes or not?
If anybody here uses it, which setings do you prefere?

Well no replies.. ok another question.. does anybody have any idea, how to reduce heat in the nose cone area since there is a common issue of failing due to heat? I read somewhere that some made a gap between cone cover and cam cover... I don't think that is the best solution since wather can get in when raining..?

Surprising no-ones been on to offer advice for you.
I can't help with the crane but i am sure i saw a finned cover somewhere that may help with heat. The gaps a no-no i reckon!

I was thinking to make a finned cover. And I was also thinking to make it that deep to get all the way to the modul and put some thermal paste in between. Any thoughts on this idea?

I'm sure i saw a cover that stuck out maybe an inch that had fins on it.
Looked similar to an old Triumph valve/rocker adjusting cap.
Sorry, never heard of thermal paste.

Yes I know about those covers. Thermal paste is mostly used in electronics to transfer heat from transistors and other elements to the cooling fins...

had same idea when the ignition went out on my 2000-
there are a few different styles on ebay under finned sportster points cover.

I'm making my own. I'll try to post some pics when I'm done. I got some finns here at work. I'll cut a circle out some way, then I'm planning to fiks some aluminium L profiles at the back, so that they will soround the module at all four sides. I'll probably used some thermal paste too...
