Default timming problems

i cant time my 91 chevy truck is there something to unplug to get the computer out of the mix whats the deal i'm about to drive it off a cliff and go back to a 70's model and save myself the headache

Default

I'm not 100% sure where it is on your truck, but the bypass connector should be either on the passenger side under the heater box, or under the hood. It should have a tan/black wire on it. If you unplug that connector you should be able to set the timing.
Usually there's a decal under the hood that will tell you where the connector is.

I've got a '92 and I just looked. It's under the black plastic cover on the passenger side firewall (in the engine compartment). Like 4cams said, it's a black/brown wire with a black connector.

thanx fellers i'll find it in the morning thank god for the good weather i haven't needed or wanted to drive it for two or three weeks
