Lightbulb Help me pick a seat that fits?

I want to buy this seat from ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/161023176136...84.m1438.l2649

It is from a 2009 XL1200L, and I want to put it on my 2009 XL1200N.
Does anyone know if this is doable?

FYI: When I look up a seat on J&P cycles, they show two different part #s for these two bikes.

The seat for the low is for a 4.5 gallon tank and a Nightster has a 3.3 tank. So, no I wouldn't put it on your bike. It will fit but it wont look right at the nose where it's supposed to meet the tank. BTW, I think $100 for a stock seat is a screw job. I can't even give my stock solo seat away for the cost of shipping. I wouldn't pay more than $60 for any stock seat. I've seen a few stock solo seats go for $40 in the XLF classifieds.

I think your Nighty aready has the gap between the tank and the seat. I think this one would maintain that. I think $100 (+20 shipping) is high too, but if you want 2 up, maybe it's worth it to you.

I have that very seat on my 2009 iron 883, pretty much the same as your nightster. Went right on and looks good. But be patient, you should be able to find one for less.

Actually, my seat came from a 2006 xl1200r, so it wouldn't fit over the ecm. I moved the ecm to under the sidecover near the battery and then the seat went right on. It raises you up a bit, but it's soooo much more comfortable!
here's a pic.

I know it was a little pricey, but since I have a little more money than patience right now, I went ahead and won the auction. Thanks so much for the input.

so....I got the seat in the mail today, and I tried to put it on, and the ecm is in the way.
While I decide whether or not to move the ecm, I would like to figure out if the seller on ebay lied to me about which bike this seat came from.
It would have been really nice to just drop my new seat on and go for a ride.
Does anyone know if a 2009 XL1200L has the ecm in the same place as mine?

What he said; for some reason no one wants to pay shit even for aftermarket used seats. I look at them as a deal cause buying new and don't like it you lose the full amount and can barely get 50% back..
I had $300 leperra, looked brand new and could not sell it until I marked it below $100... Go figure.

Yes, the '09s all have the ECM under the seat. If there is no cutout in the seat for it, the guy lied about it being from a '09. Either that, or he's just ignorant of what year bike it actually came on.
