I've never had a car that was that bad, but my ex-wife had a '92 Plymouth Sundance (which I had to work on all the time) that wasn't anything to write home about...

Tranny went out at 60k, rear axle busings always squeaked, high mount brake light bulbs would burn out every couple months, struts crapped out prematurely, and misc other items gave trouble regularly. It was pretty much a pain in the butt the whole time we had it...

I solved the problems by ditching the car and her!

1976 Fiat Spider,

When it ran it was pretty damn fun, too bad it didn't run much. It threw a rod bearing, then I swapped in a used engine, gave it an awesome rattle can charcoal paint job and happily sold it to a friend of a friend who begged me for it! I warned him and didn't rob him on the deal, but I was glad he wasn't a close friend! Selling that car was one of the happiest days of my life!

The first car I owned that wasn't a hand me down. I was 17 and it was a '69 Firebird. I thought it was the coolest, but it was a SLICE. The list of things that was wrong with it goes on forever, but I had VISION... It started to get so expensive just keeping it on the road that I was never able to do anything to it above and beyond. I guess That's what happens when you're only income is from washing dishes in a Woolworth's. Eventually I sold it for $200 to some poor schmuk who also had visions
